OVERVIEW: Castle Rock: The Stephen King Newsletter. Published in 56 separate issues between 1985 and 1989, Castle Rock was the central station for any Stephen King-related news during the heyday of its run.. The first four issues were staplebound 8.5 x 11. The rest of the series was produced in a large newsprint format.
Articles Featured: Stephen KIngs Pet Sematary Scheduled for Maine Production. The Arrival of a LImited. Castle Rock Will Live On (cover stories). Stephen King Contributions Are Worth Reading by Tyson Blue. H.P. Lovecraft and those Tommyknockers by Ben P. Indick. Half page ad announcing Horrorfest 1989, an unofficial Stephen King convention, that wasnt supported by King, but was attended by a huge King fan base and also featured guest authors Matthew Costello, Michael R. Collings, Charles L. Grant, Tyson Blue and Bryan Moore. Author Lisa Cantrell also attended but was not listed in the ad. Review of The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger audio read by Stephen King, reviewed by Tyson Blue. SK Book Banned in Virginia. Buckets of Talent Wasted in Carrie by Dan Cziraky. One letter to the editor titled, Error Observation, was submitted by Bev Vincent. First full-page ad by Overlook Connection makes a splash! Philtrum Press Second Book: The Ideal Genuine Man by Don Robertson, review by Ben P. Indick. Each issue features an Editors Column, Classifieds, letters from readers, artwork, etc.
