THE MOTHERS AND FATHERS ITALIAN ASSOCIATION - SIGNED LIMITED . New Hampshire: Borderlands Press, 2003. Signed Limited Edition. 6 X 9. Hard Cover. All Contributors Signed This Edition. As New / As New. ISBN: 1880325209. The most irreverent, entertaining, and longest-running column in the history of horror and dark fantasy, dealing with all things publishing-Monteleone has written about breaking in, breaking out, being successful, and being a failure. He tells it like it is in the book biz, television, film, and popular culture. If you want the inside scoop on the genres you love, this is the book for you! What Wayne Edwards has to say from Flesh and Blood magazine: "The Mothers and Fathers Italian Association" (MAFIA). The column has been running in Cemetery Dance for more than ten years, but believe it or not, it is actually even older. The first installments appeared in a small magazine called Knights in 1976. After a few short years at Knights, the column went into a therapeutic slumber until 1987 when it reappeared in Horrorstruck. A brief stop-over at The Horror Show followed, and then it was on to Mystery Scene for a bit before finally finding a lasting home at Cemetery Dance. With all the moving around, the history of MAFIA has become difficult to trace. Imagine trying to run down all the individual issue of the magazines where the column has appeared. Thankfully you don't have to go to the trouble as Borderlands Press has released a collection of the columns that is complete and current through the end of 2003.
