THE ROCK BOTTOM REMAINDERS - MID-LIFE CONFIDENTIAL - FIRST HARD COVER.
Signed plate by Tabitha King included with this edition.
OVERVIEW: The Rock Bottom Remainders Tour America with Three Chords and an Attitude. Edited by Dave Marsh. All photographs, color & B/W, by Tabatha King. This book is an account of the national tour of this band of authors and musical artists during the month of May 1993. Written by all the Remainders. They cover the Atlanta press conference that was held at the Hard Rock Cafe downtown. I and my wife attended with a friend of mine from CNN. We had breakfast with the band. Little did I realize that they had just travelled from Philadelphia the night before, so they were all pretty damn tired. But they where troopers. So they get up on stage, sign a guitar for the Hard Rock, and then promptly wait for questions. No one's saying a word. The press is just standing there. A local television station is video taping, but "no one" is asking questions. They didn't understand what a bunch of authors were doing touring as a rock band. You could feel it in the room. What do you ask these people? So I waited a few mintues. And then I said okay, my turn. I started asking questions. One question after another. Finally some of the press started asking questions, but then it was over. Dave Marsh promptly jumped off his stool, came right over to me and said, "thanks man, you saved the day!" Stephen King was right behind him and came over to talk as well. He signed my copy of "The Shining". I mean, we "are" the Overlook Connection, it was about time we had a signed copy for the office. Ha! So within this book is some of the questions I asked during the press conference. Pretty cool. It was all a lot of fun. I have more stories when we went back to the hotel that night... but I'll save that for another time.
