10-20-04 - Lucy Taylor turned in PLAY DEAD, another Taylor Kincaid novel featuring detectives Capshaw and McSwain into her  agent recently. She is currently at work on another p.i. novel.

Lucy says that she also turned in  "'Fuck the Dead', the oh-so-charmingly titled zombie story that I wrote years ago will finally be published by Cemetery Dance in the John Skipp-edited anthology Mondo Zombie."

And Lucy's original short story, "Linkages", will appear in the next Darkside anthology edited by John Pelan.

10-10-04 - New Collection Coming Fall 2004 by Lucy Taylor: In Two published Formats!!

"The Silence Between The Screams" is a collection of original short fiction and a reprint of a previously released novella. Her novella "Spree" has not been available for many years after it's initial printing sold out almost immediately upon publication.

Now "Spree" and this collection of original short fiction being published for the first time. It will be available in two hard cover formats under two titles: "The Silence Between the Screams" will feature the cover art by Rick Sardhina ( as seen to the left here ). This edition will be available to retailers and libraries with the appropriate ISBN number.

The second title, "A Hairy Chest, A Big Dick, and A Harley" will be available as a signed limited edition with original art by Rick Sardhina ( also  featured to the left ). This limited and signed edition will only be available through specialty book shops, and will not feature an ISBN number. Also there will not be a UPC code on the back of the book to keep the cover art design intact that usually detracts from these unique editions. The text for both titles will remain the same. However the limited edition will feature the trade edition cover art as a frontispiece on the inside as well as a signature on the limitation page from the author.

Their are several reasons for the release in these two formats. First, "A Hairy Chest, A Big Dick and A Harley" is a story from the collection and the author's preferred title. The publisher, Dave Hinchberger of Overlook Connection Press, felt to reach a wider audience to go with the more subtle title. However Mr. Hinchberger, was in favor of releasing the "Hairy.." title as a signed limited with original cover art -- only available on the limited -- and giving Lucy Taylor readers and fans something special. Also, as an extra incentive to specialty book stores, who support the OCP titles, signed limited editions are only available from specialty book stores.
